PUTNAM FIRM

A boutique law firm in the heart of Midtown Memphis.  Established in 2010 Putnam Firm can meet all of your legal needs.  Our attorneys are experienced negotiators committed to bringing swift resolution to your case without unnecessary expense or delay.  If negotiations fail, the attorneys of Putnam Firm are zealous advocates and fierce defenders, with the experience necessary to protect your rights and the rights of your family in court.

OUR PRACTICE

Our focus is “family” law.  In today’s world “family” means different things.  Whether you’re single, married, divorced or remarried with a blended family, at Putnam Firm your family will become our family.  Whatever legal issues arise in your family, Putnam Firm is here to guide you through them.  If you or a member of your family is injured, we have the experience necessary to hold the guilty party accountable. Whether you just need advice and drafting of legal papers, or your matter goes straight to court, we’ll be with you the whole way.  We’ve been there before.

Divorce

You may never have seen it coming, but we see what needs to happen next.  Your marriage may be short and you never left the apartment, or you may be faced with dividing decades of accumulated property and millions of dollars.  Not to mention any children.  Don’t worry, we have over twenty years of experience with all of it.

Post Divorce

As if once wasn’t hard enough.  If you’re already divorced and need alimony modified, or need something enforced, or your former spouse has already begun modification, you need a fresh set of eyes.  We’re here to see you through.

Child Custody and Support

There is nothing more important than the wellbeing of your children.  Ensuring that you will be able to continue caring for them (mentally, emotionally, and financially) is one of the most crucially important parts of a divorce or custody proceeding.  Not having an experienced team like Putnam Firm could make for disastrous results.

Business

Do you run your own business?  Then it is as much as part of your life as your children can be.  That’s why we know that when problems crop up it can feel life-threatening.  Whether you need help starting your own business, defending it in a lawsuit, or valuing it in a divorce, we have the experience you need.

Medical Malpractice

If you’ve been to the doctor and you feel worse leaving than when you arrived, maybe you need a second opinion.  Our door is always open (but we would appreciate it if you’d call first!).

Appellate

Has your matter already been tried and it has been or needs to be appealed?  You’ve come to the right place.  We have been to the Tennessee Supreme Court and back, and made some pretty big law in the process.

Property Tax Appeal

Did opening that last property tax bill leave you feeling like the walls were closing in around you?  Give us a call and we can help to bring your realty back to reality.

Orders of Protection

Has your spouse or significant other threatened you physically or verbally?  Have they left you feeling frightened for your own safety, in your own home?  Or worried for the safety of your family?  Call us immediately and we can restore your home to your sanctuary.

Real Property

Do you have a property or title dispute with a home or business?  We have experience in quieting titles to both homes and businesses.  Let us quiet your title and give you peace of mind.

Personal Injury/Wrongful Death

Has the worst befallen you?  We know how hard that can be for you and your family.  Nothing can make it right, but we’re here to help make it easier.

Juvenile Court

Juvenile Court is for child custody and child support matters outside of a divorce.  If you were never married but have a child, you’ll wind up in juvenile court.  If your child’s parent abused your child, you want to be in juvenile court.  If you find yourself there, or think that’s where you need to go, give Putnam Firm a call, and we’ll walk with you the whole way.

Prenuptial Agreements

The old rhyme “first comes love, then comes marriage” leaves out something in between.  Whether you’re in a committed domestic partnership or married, combing your life with someone else’s can be difficult, and it often helps to be open about what’s involved.  A prenup agreement starts you off on the right foot and can cushion a fall later in life.
